Today we saw a cooking demonstration. Sarah, the American Assistant showed us how to prepare her favourite breakfast: American Pancakes with peanut butter and chocolate cream.
She prepared pancakes for all of us and we got to taste them. They were delicious, especially with chocolate cream on top! We also tasted the peanut butter but it's not our favourite.
If you want to try it at home, here's the recipe:
150 grams flour
25 grams sugar
12 grams butter, melted
175 millileters milk
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 pinches of salt
Pour all of the ingredients into a large bowl and mix them together using a hand mixer or wisk. Once the pancake mixture is nice and creamy (without any lumps)use the ladle to pour it into the shape of a circle onto a heated grill or pan on the stove. Be sure to add a bit of oil to the grill/pan so the pancakes won't stick. When bubbles start to form on the top of the pancakes, flip them to the other side. Allow a few more minutes to cook then transfer to a plate. The only thing left to do is choose a topping and enjoy!
